 There is a story of a man walking along the beach at a very low tide. Because of this very low tide, millions of starfish were left high and dry, in danger of dying. The man soon came upon a young boy franticly throwing the starfish back into the water. The man approached the boy and told him, “There are millions of these starfish, you can’t possibly save them all”. The boy kept up his work, looking back at the man and stating “that is true, but I made a difference to that one and that one”
That is the idea behind the Starfish Program. We know there is no way you or I can help all the children, but we can make a amazing difference in the lives of the ones we do help. The program is designed to help specific children with specific needs. These children may only need one time intervention or ongoing support. This program has paid for medical costs of children requiring surgery, it has supplied wheel chairs to handicapped children, and paid for several children to come to Canada for Specialized Care.
Your small monthly donation can make a huge difference, just like the boy in the story did for those Starfish.
